Who we are

Last updated:

Cox Morgan Overland is an independent information portal for people planning overland journeys and 4x4 expeditions. We write guides on route planning, vehicle preparation, border crossings, navigation and the practical side of long-distance travel. Everything here is built for readers in the UK who are researching a trip or already on the road.

What this site is not

We are not a tour operator, a vehicle outfitter or a booking service. We do not sell equipment, arrange permits or organise expeditions. This is a collection of guides and articles about the subject, written for people who want to understand it better before they commit time and money.

What the guides cover

The subjects readers ask about most often: choosing and preparing a vehicle, planning a route across multiple countries, what documentation and equipment a journey requires, how to handle mechanical problems in remote areas, and what to expect at borders. Each guide answers one question and gives the reader enough detail to make a decision or take the next step.

How a guide is made

We start with the questions people search for. The answers are checked against public sources, written in plain language and organised so the most useful information comes first. When regulations change or new routes open, the relevant guide is updated. We do not repeat what other sites say; we explain it more clearly or from a different angle.

What we do not offer

We give no personal advice on specific trips, vehicles or insurance policies. We do not rank tours, recommend individual outfitters or accept payment to feature any service. The guides describe how something works, not which provider to choose.

Getting in touch

Questions, corrections and topic suggestions are welcome at [email protected]. We reply within 48 hours. If something on the site is out of date or a guide does not cover what you were looking for, let us know and we will update it or add it to the list.

Disclaimer: This is an information site for general guidance only. We do not sell goods or services.
