Cookie policy

Last updated:

Cox Morgan Overland uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work properly and to understand how people use it. This page explains what these small files do, which ones we set, which come from elsewhere, how you can turn them off and when this text changes.

How this site remembers you

A cookie is a text file your browser stores when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise you when you return, remember choices you made and keep track of basic actions such as which pages you looked at. Cookies do not access other files on your device and cannot identify you personally.

Cox Morgan Overland sets cookies to remember your consent preferences, maintain your session if you interact with any form and measure traffic across pages. These are functional and analytical cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or any that track you across other websites.

The analytics question

We use an analytics service to see which articles are read most often and where visitors arrive from. The service sets its own cookies to count visits and sessions. The data collected is aggregated and anonymous: it shows patterns, not individuals.

You can opt out of analytics tracking through your browser settings or by using tools that block third-party scripts. The site works exactly the same way whether analytics are on or off.

Scripts we do not control

Some pages may embed content from other platforms—maps, videos or social-media posts. Those embeds can set their own cookies under the policies of the company that provides them. Cox Morgan Overland does not see or store any data these third parties collect.

If you prefer not to load external embeds, most browsers let you block third-party cookies while still allowing first-party ones from the site you are visiting. Instructions are in your browser's privacy or settings menu.

Your options

You can delete cookies already stored on your device and set your browser to refuse new ones. In most browsers the option is under Settings, then Privacy or Security. Blocking all cookies may stop some features from working—such as forms that need to remember what you typed—but it will not prevent you reading any page on this site.

Mobile browsers have similar controls, usually in the app's settings menu under Privacy or Site Data. Clearing cookies does not delete bookmarks or saved passwords.

Revisions

We may update this policy if we add new tools or change how the site operates. Any revision will be published here with the new date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
